CHESS SUCCESS CONTINUES

Billy Campbell (S4) once again represented the school at a mainland chess tournament. He qualified for the finals of the Scotland-wide Chess for Kicks competition run by Scottish Junior Chess, and travelled to Fir Park Stadium in Motherwell for the tournament. Billy must be congratulated on his achievement, as he competed against some of the best junior players in the north-east to qualify for the tournament. The Nicolson Institute Chess Club would like to thank the Lewis Chess Club and the Scottish Junior Chess Educational Trust for their generous donations towards the expenses of this trip.
